| COURTHOUSE TIP What you wear to the courtroom is very important. Prosecutors, Judges and court staff will instantly judge you based solely on what you wear that day. And these people's opinions matter! You should make an effort to dress up for court. Dress as though you were going for a job interview or church. Shorts are not allowed in the courtrooms. It's not necessary to wear a suit or go buy new clothes, simple things like wearing a collared shirt which is tucked in, instead of an untucked t-shirt can make a big difference in how people perceive you. Avoid too much jewelry and any look that comes across as "cool" or the "latest" Trust me, the judge will not appreciate your fashion statement And remember, your only going to be in there a short while and then you can put your favorite comfortable clothes back on. |
